Endodontics (root canals)

A dental root canal is a treatment used to save a tooth that is decayed and/or infected to prevent surgical extraction of the tooth. We’ve all heard the countless comparisons of painful things to root canals. Though it is not as painful as commonly thought, Dr. Wilcox employs the latest in dental technologyto no longer make the procedure as painful it once was. Dr. Wilcox will be able to perform your root canal as you rest easy and calm.

Surgical tooth extractions can be used for a variety of reasons. Dr. Wilcox performs simple tooth extractions only when every possible effort has been made to save the tooth. When a tooth extraction is necessary, patients are given a local anesthetic and can opt for “laughing gas” for the procedure. This simple procedure is often used when teeth broken or teeth damaged by decay cannot be fixed through other means such as dental crowns or root canals.
